Residency Program

Residency Program

The Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center OB/GYN residency program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in conjunction with Weill Cornell Medical College. The postgraduate program in obstetrics and gynecology advances four physicians at each level through four years of training. The program is designed to provide the resident with broad clinical training in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology in addition to exposure to the subspecialty areas.

The Department also trains family medicine residents from St. Joseph’s Family Medicine Residency program for their OB rotation and has two positions for Family Medicine graduates who which to pursue a Fellowship in Women’s Health. The residents are required in each rotation to demonstrate the core competencies established by the ACGME including: Patient care, Medical knowledge, Practiced based learning/Improvement, Interpersonal Skills, Professionalism, and System based learning.

The department has a substantial commitment to teaching and research and as an incentive the department pays for any resident who has a research paper to present at a national meeting. We currently have an obstetrical simulator/robot (Noelle) that allows us to teach normal and abnormal labor, critique deliveries, practice shoulder dystocia, practice vacuum and forcep deliveries and practice postpartum hemorrhage drills.

We attract diverse, bright residents to our program, who get along with the staff, and each other, and who treat each other like family, to make it an outstanding work environment.

Applications are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
